Verdict: Before this approval, Zoho Books needed an external FTA-approved ASP to connect to the UAE Peppol network. However, Zoho Books is now an approved ASP itself. As a result, the whole Peppol e-invoicing process works directly inside Zoho Books.

Verdict: Your team does nothing new. After setup, the whole Peppol process runs in the background every time an invoice is confirmed in Zoho Books.

Verdict: Before this approval, Zoho Books users paid for a Zoho Books licence plus a separate ASP subscription. Now, the ASP is built in. Therefore, there is no extra ASP cost on Professional, Premium, and Elite plans.

Verdict: Zoho Books now joins TallyPrime 7.0 as a platform with direct built-in Peppol e-invoicing. Furthermore, both platforms carry no external ASP subscription cost. In contrast, QuickBooks, Odoo, and Sage still need an outside ASP — however, Perfonec manages all of these.

Yes. Both Zoho Books and TallyPrime 7.0 now have direct Peppol e-invoicing built in — with no external ASP subscription needed. However, they are different in setup. TallyPrime 7.0 has a native Peppol access point within the software. Zoho Books is itself now an approved ASP with a direct Peppol connection. Both require proper configuration by Perfonec before go-live.

Do I still need to do anything to set up e-invoicing in Zoho Books?

Yes. Zoho Books being an approved ASP does not automatically turn on e-invoicing in your account. You still need the PINT AE data audit, VAT code mapping, UN/CEFACT unit codes, and direct Peppol enabled in your Zoho Books settings. Which Zoho Books plan do I need for UAE e-invoicing?

You need Professional (~AED 110/month), Premium (~AED 165/month), or Elite (~AED 220/month). The Standard plan and the Free tier do not support the direct Peppol connection. Additionally, if you are currently on Standard, you need to upgrade before setup can begin.

Does this affect businesses already using Zoho Books with an external ASP?

Do fines apply to free zone Zoho Books users?
